I always find myself helping set up the projector, ensuring the lights are working well, and even adjusting the projector’s audio so that everybody can hear what is being presented. In some situations, our lecturer may want to present a video lesson on a given topic. Another way I take an active role in the lesson is when I like gathering or arranging teaching and learning materials. Through active learning, I can follow what is being presented from the start to the end. From the LSI, my score on active learning is 5 (Felder & Soloman, n.d). That is why I usually try my best to ensure that I am involved in the class actively. I feel that by being an active learner, I may not drift away from the lesson. During the lesson, I ask questions, take part in carrying out learning activities, and read aloud when asked to do so during the studies. Active learners strive to take part in the learning process to understand better what is being taught (Module 1, n.d). I am also an active and sequential learner. I have realized that when I use the sense of sight more, there are high chances of retention of what I have learned more than when I use other approaches to learn. That is why according to the LSI, my score in visual learning is 9, meaning that my preferred style of learning is visual (Felder & Soloman, n.d).

However, if the practical application of the theories is offered during the class, I may grasp a lot of what has been taught.

Otherwise, in situations where many texts and theories are being presented, I may drift away and not gain much from that class. By remembering their faces, I always remember what each of them may have said during the debate. In many instances, I also like group discussions as they allow me to relate to my colleagues. The moment I visualize that lecturer, I always recall the facts he taught us on a given day. That is why in many instances, for me to remember what I was taught, I like recalling the person who taught us. That is why I also like demonstration lessons or practical lessons, site visits, and any other learning methodology that will involve using the sense of sight more than anything else. Whenever there is a practical lesson, I usually feel good as I can understand the content better when I see things being done (Module 1, n.d). That is why in my classes or when going through lecture notes, I like looking at diagrams and pictures and then try to find out how they relate to the content being presented. I like seeing how things are done to grasp the content of what is being taught. My learning style shows that I am a visual and active learner.
